22nd summer camp of Antinazi Zone-YRE, 31st July- 9Th August in Thassos

The 22nd antiracist and antifascist summer camp of Antinazi Zone –Y.R.E. will take place from Friday 31st of July until Sunday 9th of August 2015 iIn the beautiful municipal camping of Prinos in the island Thassos in north Greece.

We have visited the same camping site two years ago (Summer of 2013) celebrating 20 years of organizing antiracist summer camps.

We liked it so much, so we will visit it again this year. It is one of the best camping sites since it’s got one of the best vegetation, big spaces for tents surrounded by a beautiful beach, far away from noisy roads.

The port of Prinos, connected to the city of Kavala, is really close the camping site. The best way to travel is through Thessaloniki airport, but there is also an airport close to Kavala (Chrisoupoli airport).


We will have discussions on the following topics:

•       The trial of Golden Dawn and the role of the antifascist movement.
•       Concentration camps of refugees and immigrants.
•       The new law for the legalization of immigrants.
•       The rise of the far right in Europe.
•       The 70th anniversary of the end of the second world  war.
Also there will be topics such as:
•       Bullying in schools and how can it be stopped
•       Important movements such as the struggle against the gold mining in Skouries, in Halkidiki.
•       Non-payment campaigns in Ireland
•       The issue of violence and hooliganism in football.
This year’s summer camp has a unique feature. We have a left government in Greece. Therefore many discussions will concern issues such as the debt , the euro, workers’ struggles, etc.

The camp will also feature:
•       Live concerts with greek folk music, latin, reggae and rock.
•       Beach parties
•       Movie screanings.
•       Excursions to different beaches and tour around the island.
•       Hiking in the beautiful village of Kazaviti.
•       Workshops (Dance lessons, Yoga, Martial Arts, Music, Theatre, crafts, ect).
•       Playground for children with activities for 2 hours every day
